What is a crankshaft oil seal?
Crankshaft oil seal refers to a sealing device installed on the engine crankshaft to prevent the lubricating oil in the engine from leaking from the crankshaft to the external environment. 1. Type
The crankshaft oil seal is divided into front and rear. The front crankshaft oil seal is responsible for sealing the end of the crankshaft at the timing cover end. The crankshaft rear oil seal seals the crankshaft end of the engine flywheel end.
2. Installation location
Crankshaft front oil seal: Installed on the side of the engine pulley, which is the inside of the crankshaft pulley on the side of our common generator belt.
Crankshaft rear oil seal: Installed at the connection between the engine and the gearbox, inside the flywheel. The gearbox needs to be disassembled to find it. Oil leakage is usually at the connection between the engine and gearbox.
